What's your favorite pie?
March 14th is Pi Day. You’ll often see Pi written with this symbol: π. Pi is a number that describes the relationship between a circle’s diameter (distance across) and a circle’s circumference (distance around). After looking at many, many circles, mathematicians realized that every circle’s circumference, no matter how big or small, is always about 3.14 times its diameter!
Don’t worry if this feels confusing—you’ll learn more about Pi one day—but for our Dragon Adventure this week, it’s good enough to know that Pi is equal to about 3.14, it is an important and powerful number, and people like to celebrate it on March 14th by eating pie!
So let us know on our Pie Padlet what is your favorite flavor of pie? If you don’t like sweet pies, what are your favorite toppings on a pizza pie?
