Get Involved!

There are many ways to get involved with Plymouth PTA! You choose what makes the most sense for you and your family.

Come have fun

The easiest way to get involved is to come and enjoy our family nights. (You don’t need to be a member to attend! Our Family Nights are held on Friday evenings and are free and fun for the whole family, so get these dates on your calendar!

participate

Throughout the year, we hold fundraisers to raise money to support the many programs we sponsor. Please consider participating in our fundraising efforts this year!

  • Dave & Buster’s game card sales (50% is donated back to PTA)

  • See’s Candies sale ready for holiday giving (__% is donated back to PTA)

  • Our annual spring Dragon Dash where students ask for donations to support their run and our school! (100% of these donations (minus any online processing fees) support our PTA.)

  • Various restaurant nights throughout the year at places like Chuck E. Cheese and Chipotle. (Percentage donated varies by restaurant.)

Keep your eyes out for flyers and Konstella announcements when each fundraiser starts!

In addition, there are easy, ongoing—and no cost to you!—programs that earn money for our school.

  • Shop from Amazon Smile and a percentage of your purchase will automatically be donated to Plymouth PTA. It’s easy—just go to smile.amazon.com and set your charity as 182 Plymouth Elementary PTA, then shop as you normally do on Amazon.com!

  • BoxTops for Education donates $0.10 for every BoxTop submitted by our PTA. This year, in addition to bringing us the traditional pink BoxTops, the program is going digital! Companies are starting to switch to a blue BoxTop which can be redeemed when you scan your grocery store receipt with a phone app. Learn more here.

  • Shop With Scrip is the modern, online version of the Scrip programs you may have heard of before. Scrip earns money for our school because participating companies automatically donate a certain percentage of the gift cards you purchase through Scrip. Many cards available electronically and can be used directly from the Shop With Scrip app. Learn more here.

Become a member

It’s easy to become a member of Plymouth PTA. There is no requirement for you to attend meetings or volunteer if you don’t have the time—though, of course, we’d love to have you!

Dues are $8 per member and entitles you to a $5 discount on many of our Spirit Wear items (so membership can easily pay for itself!). Membership also allows you to vote at our PTA Association meetings and is required if you are interested in serving on our Board.

Membership forms are available in the school office or for download here. You now also have the option of signing up online here. (Please note that online processing fees add an additional $1 per member.)

Volunteer

There are many ways to volunteer depending on your time, skills, and interests.

  • PTA Family Nights: Our Family Nights literally would not be possible without the volunteer support of our wonderful parents. The time commitment can be as little as a one-hour shift during the event or you can sign up to be on the planning committee.

    • To help out during the event, make sure you are registered with Konstella, our online organizational system. We will send out volunteer sign-ups via Konstella before every Family Night.

    • To join a planning committee, email us at plymouthpta@yahoo.com with the event you’re interested in working on, and we will put you in touch with the appropriate event chair.

  • During school/in your child’s classroom: Sometimes we will need help with PTA events during school hours. To be able to volunteer at these events, you will need to be a cleared volunteer through the school district. You can ask for a volunteer form at the school office or you can download it here. (A limited background check and TB clearance are required.) This is the same clearance that is required if you want to volunteer in your child’s class.

    • If you are available to volunteer during school hours, please fill out this form, and you will be notified via Konstella if there is an event for which we need volunteers.

    • If you are interested in volunteering in your child’s class, please coordinate this with the teacher directly.

dOnate

If you have the means to financially support what we do, we always appreciate any additional support we can get. We are a registered 501(c)(3) which means that your donations are tax-deductible. We are happy to provide you with our tax ID number and a donation receipt if you need them for tax purposes.

In addition to donating to PTA, generally, you can also directly support our Makerspace Campaign. Learn more here.
